Delivery
Delivery Lead
Owns the estimate on fixed-price work. The role with the least room to be optimistic.
- Location
- Denver or Lahore
- Contract
- Permanent, full time
- Level
- Senior
- Compensation
- Competitive, reviewed against market twice a year
About the role
Everything we sell is a fixed price against a written scope, which means an estimate that is wrong comes out of our margin rather than the client’s budget. This role owns that number. It is the most commercially consequential job in the firm that is not the chief executive, and it suits someone who finds discipline about scope more satisfying than optimism about velocity.
What you will do
- Own estimates across engagements, including the assumptions each one depends on.
- Write the scope documents that make a fixed price defensible.
- Track delivery against the estimate and raise variance while it is still actionable.
- Run the weekly client report: what shipped, what did not, what changed in the estimate.
- Say no to scope creep in the room, politely, with the change priced.
What we need from you
- Experience owning delivery commercially, not only operationally.
- You have estimated software work and been measured on it.
- Technical enough to challenge an engineer’s estimate and be taken seriously.
- Excellent written English. Most of this role is documents clients rely on.
Useful but not required
- Background as an engineer before moving into delivery.
- Experience with enterprise procurement and statement-of-work negotiation.
